A secret known to two people is no secret.

I could list a whole host of proverbs and sayings about keeping secrets. For some reason, these sayings advise us not to share our secrets in the first place, and if we do, to share them only with trustworthy friends. “Don’t tell a secret to a friend, for they’ll tell it to their friend…” Is this really the case? Have you ever witnessed a secret you shared with a friend coming back to you, distorted in some way?
